Jasper with bone Hairpipe are together!

Amelia ~ necklace and earrings

Primitive Elegance jewelry features a ceramic pendant created by hand from clay, combined with gemstones, bone, glass or wood beads to complete this modern tribal jewelry. The ceramic pendant is hand cut, fired, glazed, fired again. Finally the decal is applied & the piece is fired a third time to 1700 degrees so that it melts into the ivory glaze to become permanent.

The rich black decal depicts carvings found on pottery discovered in ancient mound excavations. The design resembles the winged serpent, also known as the “guardian of life”.

Modern Tribal Jewelry

I love to use gemstones for their beauty & luxurious feel. Pairing them with traditional Native American hairpipe sets the piece apart from other jewelry. Hairpipe (tubular beads tapered at both ends) were originally made from conch shells and were highly valued. Today, genuine hairpipe is made from bone or horn and is used by Native Americans to create chokers, necklaces & striking breastplates. The Sea Sediment Jasper used here is known for its grounding  qualities and the creamy hairpipe is made from buffalo bone.
