He is called Grandfather
New - Mixed Media Painting
Many tribes refer to God as Grandfather or Great Spirit. The Choctaw word for God is Hashtali, but we also use Achafa Chito (Great One), or Chictokaka (Mighty One).
When I finished this painting, I walked away to let it sit for a while, as I always do. When I came in the next day, the powerful imagery struck me and I murmured “Grandfather”. It gave me a feeling of reverence and I hope that feeling comes through to you.
This original is everything I love about abstract painting. The things that show up as a result of being “in the flow” while applying acrylic paint and inks always surprise me. The rich colors make me happy & I hope they will make you happy too.
Created on 140 lb cold pressed watercolor paper, it comes already matted and ready to drop in the 11 x 14″ frame of your choice.
