BRRR! It is way too cold for Texas. It started at 11 degrees this morning and soared to all of 20 degrees in the afternoon. We are expecting a warmup though – it’s only supposed to be 13 overnight with a high of 26 tomorrow. Schools & businesses are closed and the Super Bowl festivities are limping along. Now I’m not much of a football fan, but as a Fort Worth native I want us to make a good impression on the 150,000 visitors expected this week. The one thing we can’t control is the weather – and she is showing off her power this week for sure!
Personally, I am happy as a clam to be stuck at home – oh so grateful not to have to make a decision about getting on the treacherous roads for the sake of corporate America…but I digress.
In an effort to keep warm I’ve been drinking a LOT of tea. Do you ever take a cup of tea to your favorite chair, snuggle down in front of the roaring fire and just about the time it steeps to perfection you realize you have no place to put the soggy teabag? Enter my wonderful new little Tea Plates. They are about two inches square earthenware, stamped with a design hand-carved by me. There are three designs – the Ol’ Tree Swing, Secret Shed, and Midnight Howl – in a choice of three colors. I love my little tea plate. It’s the perfect size for a tea bag or for a spoon to rest after mixing up your favorite hot chocolate.
